Ted Mulry was something of a reluctant performer initially, working as an earthmover for a NSW government department during the day and following his dream of becoming a songwriter in his spare time.

After scoring a recording contract with the iconic Australian publishing house, J. Albert and Sons, Mulry recorded a few songs as a solo artist and then gathered some backing musicians as Ted Mulry Gang. He entered the charts three times in 1977, each time under the name TMG. This was one of those three singles – a gentle, almost novelty-type, song that was pretty much removed from the stuff the Gang had been doing twelve months earlier

Ted Mulry, Ted Mulry Gang and TMG – an integral part of the Aussie music industry throughout the 70’s with a song that very much holds its own in this company.
